Inside the Box with Ed Dennis, Junior Designer
Here at Lesters, we are proud of the team we have. Each month we will be introducing a new member of our team and will be getting to know a little more about them. Meet Ed Dennis, our Junior Designer.
As our Junior Designer, Edward works alongside Anthony in our in-house development studio, helping to create prototypes and innovative solutions for our clients.
Ed, tell us what a typical day looks like for you at S Lester’s:
Each day is different for me, one day I could be designing a furniture storage shipper and the next day creating an octagonal cap, sleeve, and tray. Anthony and I work together to design the most efficient and cost-effective pack in relation to the product and clients’ needs.
What is the most interesting design project you’ve worked on?
Myself and Antony were challenged with trying to safely secure as many automotive components in a fixed dimension outer case as possible. We created many concepts, once a concept style proved the most effective, we explored different fittings and stacking methods to ensure the component was safe and secure for use in transit.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I find the problem-solving aspect of my job the most enjoyable. We work with many different products, so every project is a new challenge.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I’m a fitness enthusiast so I’m always being active. I’m in the gym most nights working towards my goal of becoming a men’s physique bodybuilding champion.
