Inside the Box with David Bailey
Here at Lesters, we are proud of the team we have. Each month we will be introducing a new member of our team and will be getting to know a little more about them. First up is our Sales Engineer, David Bailey.
As Sales Engineer, David (Bails) is responsible for new business development. David works with companies of all sizes to provide packaging solutions that meet our client’s business needs. He is committed to providing excellent account management to his customers.
Bails, tell us what a typical day looks like for you at S Lester’s:
That’s difficult to say due to the nature of my role. But in a generic sense, it will be a mixture of account managing, prospecting, and general administration leaving myself time for 4 coffee breaks!
How long have you worked in the packaging industry?
Ages. I’ve been working in the industry now for over 25 years. This is my 9th season with Lester’s.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Good question! Both dealing with existing customers and talking to prospects. I enjoy building trading relationships as I believe it is important for repeat business.
What’s your advice for Sales Engineers starting out in the industry?
Be keen to learn about the industry through product information and design.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Enjoy the great outdoors! You will find me on my mountain bike most weekends. I’m a keen footballer and play 5-a-side during the week (not walking football, just yet!) Anything that will get me out of the house as my list of household chores grows by the day.
